ROBERT LONG: I’ve attached a rambling statement to the drive folder. I felt this was the only way to elude (through collage) to the research materials with out directly setting the subjects on a specific course. Later to present observations and hypothesis structuring the piece.

ATTACHMENT (STATEMENT)

{Through our ideologies, we have created an unreal world an ideal reference. From the moment the phrase “The Golden Age” was coined, it began to tarnish though, fondly remembered as a glory to once again be achieved. To manage such lofty goals we set off for the snowy mountain tops. Blind from cold we reach wildly swinging in hopes of finding the touch of the familiar. Glimmers of hope break the clouds to envelop us in warmth, to prick up the goose bumps on our skin, to know that feeling we actively search for those places in the in the illumination, exceed a status of average citizen. It is our pilgrimage to seek out those above the depravities brought by changing social tides, to capture not only their likeness, but to embody their character. We’ve worked hard to separate ourselves from all emotion, sentiment, impulse, hoping to find, beyond them, a state of—how to say it?—of immobility and of permanence, a silent presence, anonymous, transcendent, which would console us for all that we lacked and for the world’s absurdity.} -Robert Long
